Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of remodara.com and the Remodara service. Remodara is operated by Remodara LLC, 111 S. Walnut Ave., Ripon, CA 95366 ("Remodara", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What Remodara is
Remodara is in pre-launch. Today the site offers a waitlist and, where available, free AI renderings that show one possible remodel of a room from a photo you upload. In markets where we launch, Remodara plans to introduce homeowners to licensed local contractors.
Contractor bids
Remodara does not write, edit, price or oversee contractor bids. Contractors write and send their own bids. If you hire a contractor, your agreement is with that contractor, and you choose, hire and pay the contractor directly. Remodara is not a contractor, does not perform construction work, and does not guarantee any contractor's work, license status, price or schedule. Always check a contractor's license and insurance before you hire.
When bidding opens in your area
Bidding opens market by market. Where it is open, these rules apply:
- Sharing is your choice. Your project is shown to contractors only if you choose to publish it for bids. Each project is shared with no more than 3 participating licensed contractors, chosen in rotation by trade and service area.
- Your contact details stay private. Contractors message you inside Remodara. Your phone number and email are shared only with a contractor you choose, by name.
- License checks. Participating contractors must hold an active California contractor license in the right classification, plus any required bond and workers' compensation coverage. We check license status at onboarding and from time to time against the CSLB public database, but status can change and our checks may be out of date. Before you sign, verify the contractor's license, bond and insurance yourself at www.cslb.ca.gov.
- Neutral notices. Our notices about bids are neutral, for example "You have 2 new bids". We do not recommend, endorse or rank contractors, and we never rank them based on what they pay us.
- Your contract. California law requires home improvement contracts over a set amount to be in writing and to include specific notices, including your right to cancel. Ask your contractor for a complete written contract before any work starts.
- How we are paid. Remodara is free for homeowners. Participating contractors pay Remodara a flat monthly subscription that is the same for every contractor business. We do not receive a percentage of any contract, and our fee does not depend on which contractor you choose or whether you hire anyone.
The waitlist
You can sign up with your name, email and ZIP code. If you opt in, we may email you design ideas, tips and offers. You can unsubscribe anytime. If you opt in to texts, our SMS Terms also apply. You can unsubscribe or delete your information at any time using the links in our emails or by writing to [email protected].
Uploading photos
What you can upload. Upload only photos you took or have the right to use, of a home you own, rent or have permission to photograph. Do not upload photos that show people, house numbers, street signs, license plates or other identifying details, or anything unlawful.
License to process. You keep ownership of your photos. You give Remodara a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, re-encode, analyze and modify your photo, and to send it to our service providers, only to create, check, store and show your renderings and to run and protect the service. This license ends when your photo is deleted, except for copies in routine backups, which expire on their normal schedule.
No public use without opt-in. We do not publish your photos or renderings. We will ask you separately, and only use them publicly if you opt in for that specific use.
Retention. We keep uploaded photos and renderings for 12 months after your last upload, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
AI renderings
Renderings are created by artificial intelligence. They show one possible design, not the actual condition of your home, and not a promise of what any contractor can build or what it will cost. Every rendering we show carries the label "Virtually renovated - AI rendering. Not actual condition." and a link labeled "Original photo" to the original photo at remodara.com/o (or "Original photo (privacy details blurred)" when private details such as house numbers were blurred). Renderings may contain mistakes. Do not rely on them for measurements, structural, code or safety decisions.
Use of your renderings. You may use renderings of your own home for personal, non-commercial purposes. If you share a rendering, keep the AI label visible and do not present it as a photo of the home's actual condition.
Listed or sold homes. Do not use a rendering to market a home for sale or rent unless you have the owner's written consent and you follow all disclosure laws that apply, including California Business and Professions Code section 10140.8 (AB 723) where it applies.
Free renders and limits
Free renders are limited to 3 a month per person, and to a daily total across the service. We count free renders by verified email address, treating addresses that differ only by a "+" tag (or, for Gmail, by dots) as one person, and we also limit free renders from one network to 3 a month, so extra email addresses do not add free renders. Your free renders reset on the 1st of each month at midnight Pacific time. Renders that fail are not counted. We may pause renders at any time, for example when demand is high. When renders are paused, your place on the waitlist is kept.
Acceptable use
You must be 18 or older to use Remodara. Do not misuse the site. For example, do not attempt to get around rate limits or bot checks, scrape the site, upload malware, interfere with the service, or use it to harass anyone or break the law.
Our content
The Remodara name, logo, site design and text belong to Remodara LLC. You may not copy them except as the law allows.
Disclaimers
The site and renderings are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Remodara LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim about the site or the service is limited to the greater of one hundred US dollars ($100) or the fees the pro paid Remodara in the 12 months before the claim. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnity
If you misuse the site or upload content you did not have the right to upload, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, including attorney fees, of claims that result.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Joaquin County, California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will email people on the waitlist before it takes effect.
